Notes

Creation Records all-dayer known as ‘Creation Day’, to showcase the label’s bands and promote the budget price ‘Doing It For The Kids’ LP and a range of limited edition 99p 7″ singles (including Destroy The Heart).

There is a pretty good audience recording available to listen to on YouTube, though regrettably this doesn’t include Terry’s improv intro.

Quotes

“A sold out gig on a hot August afternoon, HOL’s biggest gig yet. There was a palpable buzz inside the building, stripy tops everywhere and an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation around seeing the up-and-coming darlings of John Peel and the music press. Once the band finally took to the stage Terry had to improvise while Guy sorted out a technical issue, in doing so effortlessly sending an immense 45 seconds of chorus pedal laden sonics swirling around the venue. The band then ripped through a 40 minute highlights set, blowing the day’s other acts off the stage. A superb performance to justify all the fuss; one of those nights when you think ‘Christ, they’ve done it, they’re gonna be huge!'” Tim Driver
